Named one of the Fifty-five Most Influential Foreign Born Atlantans, Lucia Jennings has shaped the way Brazilian businesses do business in Georgia and how U.S. companies do business in Brazil.
President/CEO and founding member of the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of SE, Inc., and one of its most active volunteers, Lucia Jennings has served as Secretary, Treasurer and board member throughout the organization almost 17 years of existence.
Lucia has been featured in several publications, radio and television shows, as a leader of the Brazilian business community in Atlanta. Her advice has shaped the way Brazilian businesses do business in Georgia and how US companies do business in Brazil. In 2005, she launched the Brazil-Georgia Business Resource Book to guide Brazilian-American Companies to do business. Under Lucia?s leadership the Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce of SE grew to become one of the most active bi-national chambers in Atlanta with over 100 members.
She has been instrumental in bringing to Georgia foreign dignitaries from the former president of Brazil, Honorable Fernando Henrique Cardoso, Pernambuco Governor Eduardo Campos, Amazonas Governor Eduardo Braga, and former Brazilian Ambassadors to the United States Mr. Rubens Barbosa and Mr. Roberto Abdenur, to speak for Chamber?s events.
Most recently, Lucia worked diligently to bring the Consulate General of Brazil to Atlanta and is working together with the Consulate in strengthening the Brazilian-American business relationships.
Lucia has been working for Coca-Cola for more than 20 years, where she currently holds the position of Demand Planning Manager for Coca-Cola Refreshments in North America. Prior to this position, Lucia was a Senior Buyer for The Coca-Cola Company.
During her 30 + years of residence in Atlanta, Georgia, Lucia has been extremely active in the Brazilian American community. In 1987, in an effort to promote Brazilian culture in Atlanta as well as bring together an increasingly large Brazilian immigrant community, she founded the Brazilian American Society. Also in pursuit of these goals, from 1987 through 1996 she promoted events such as Carnaval parties, Brazilian holidays and special events.
In 2007, Lucia was named one of "Fifty-five Most Influential Foreign Born Atlantans" by the Atlanta Magazine.
Lucia Jennings seats on the Board of Directors of the World Chamber of Commerce; Fulton County Economic Development Advisory Committee and the Bahia Advisory Committee.
Lucia Jennings holds a Master of Business Administration from Oglethorpe University.
